Maternal Newborn Child And Adolescent Health (MNCAH)

Trained traditional birth attendants (TBAs), Community Health Extension Workers (CHEWs) and Midwives on reproductive health and safe motherhood and to act as CORPs to promote 16 KHHPs to reduce maternal, newborn and child morbidity and mortality.

Communityeducation campaigns and awareness on sexual and reproductive health issues such as nutrition, breastfeeding, family planning, gender issues and male involvement

Facilitated perinatal support groups to engage and support young mothers and their families

Strengthening antenatal clinics in the selected communities through health education, counseling, routine laboratory screening including HIV testing and treatment for common infections including malaria and STI

HIV prevention interventions- outreach, peer education, HIV counseling, testing and referrals for youth, women, men, sex workers, men who have sex with men, injection drug users, uniform personnel, road transport workers among others.
Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission of HIV through education, HIV testing of pregnant women and accompanied referral of HIV positive ones to facilitate treatment and specialized care.
Treatment, care and support for HIV/AIDS and opportunistic infections, including home based care.
Syndromic management of STIs
Facilitated formation of CBOs and support groups of affected communities and built their capacity for governance, peer education, treatment adherence, self management and economic empowerment
Developed and disseminated variety of information, education, communication (IEC) materials
Collaborated with gospel communication international to produce ’Starting Over’ – a movie about Christian response to HIV/AIDS

Community outreach and education on substance abuse prevention and care
Community based counselling, treatment and support services for people who use drugs and their families
Prevention education, screening and referral for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, and TB among people who use drugs
